Adam G. Ciongoli was named Executive Vice President and General Counsel in July 2015 and has also served as Chief Sustainability, Corporate Responsibility and Governance Officer since January 2021.

Adam is responsible for our Legal department, Corporate Secretary function, Government Relations team, and Sustainability, Corporate Responsibility and Governance functions. Adam is a member of the Operating Committee, which focuses on Board-level matters and the development of the Strategic Plan and Annual Operating Plan. He reports to the CEO. 

Adam has more than 20 years of legal experience. Prior to Campbell, he was Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Lincoln Financial Group, a Fortune 250 insurance and financial services company, where he directed the law, compliance, corporate secretary, and government relations departments. He also provided strategic counsel to the Board of Directors and senior management team.

Before that, he had served as Group General Counsel and Secretary for Willis Group Holdings, PLC, supporting global operations and advising the company on significant transactions. Adam was also Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Time Warner, Europe, where he negotiated regulatory clearance of European mergers and acquisitions.

Adam’s previous experience includes serving as the counselor to John Ashcroft when he was Attorney General of the United States; as chief counsel to the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on the Constitution, Federalism and Property Rights; and as law clerk to United States Supreme Court Justice Samuel A. Alito, Jr.

Adam earned his Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Pennsylvania, and his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center.
